Who is Manifold

Manifold empowers digital creators with tools and applications enabling true creative sovereignty and the ability to create innovative NFT experiencesfor their audiences.

The team at Manifold has had a massive impact on the world of NFTs. They were the first to push the importance of creator sovereignty with theManifold Creator Contract, and have been product partners to some of the largest drops with artists like Snoop Dogg, JayZ, Steve Aoki, Mad Dog Jones, Pak, Fvckrender, and many more.

At the time the three founders had received funding from a16z and Initialized. With a business model spanning partner collaborations, creator tooling, and developer infrastructure, they had a lot to do. Originally a team of 8 (7engineers and 1 product manager), there was a large need to scale, but a very strong drive to do so smartly.

In particular, diversity of hiring was an integral factor for their future growth and one that the team would not compromise on. They had a strong intent to balance the gender ratio of their team and were willing to solely focus new hires in towards this effort.

Of the 11 hires, 6 were diversity hires, including 3x of the engineers. Of note, all of the non-diverse hires were made in the first 2 months before a decision to making only diverse hires was made.

Embedded Team

  • Embedded ourselves deeply, taking up all of Manifold’s tools and communication channels (email, slack, discord, etc)
  • Implemented an ATS system based on their needs at the time
  • Partnering directly with founding team on a talent roadmap
  • Created unique web3 specific strategies for finding and engaging candidates, in particular around women in web3
  • Worked closely with the team to organize and run a community and event strategy for hiring
  • Built out company hiring content and processes, with an intent to operationalize them with the team
  • Negotiated and closed offers while keeping candidate satisfaction high
